Time for Transformation

One of the greatest challenges we face in our journey of understanding what the Bible teaches about homosexuality is actually not related to the verses we study.  It has more to do with the false beliefs that we have bought into based on the things that others have told us.  LGBT people are not the only ones who have subscribed to these beliefs.  To some extent, we all do.  The journey to understand what the Bible really does and does not teach about homosexuality is just as much a journey of transformation and renewal as it is a journey of study and understanding.

We have been taught to believe that if we don’t measure up to other’s standards, if others don’t approve of us, if we fail to follow the rules given to us by others; then we deserve to be punished. But the truth is quite the opposite. God deeply loves us. We are completely forgiven by Him and fully pleasing to Him. He accepts us completely. The question that faces us now is, “Which voices will we trust? Which one will we listen to?” I pray that you will turn to hear Jesus, trust Him. Let Him renew and transform your heart and mind!

if one would form a belief or opinion about a subject, a wise person would first learn as much as he/she coulda, woulda, shoulda…about the subject. Then perhaps apply some common sense, an open mind, and along with a few other traits, come up with/create an “informed” opinion or belief, one which you have complete confidence in, and one in which you feel right with. Many others just adopt other peoples’ beliefs or ideas and claim it as their own, (herd mentality?), without investigating the topic. I guess that is also called

(cont’d) intelligence gathering, becoming educated, etc. For lots of folks, that would imply too much work. (It hurts when I use my brain!)
